I took few days off to relax and reflect and visited my parent all the way back in Lithuania, as that is where I am from. I always share my knowledge with them and educate them with healthy eating and living tips. They even had their first Theta Healing session and have been fascinated by all the stories and my experience with Theta Healing so far.
As I was preparing my morning smoothie I have realised that my parents have barely used the superfoods powders that I have brought them. I asked them why and the answer was that they didn’t exactly knew how to and where to use them. As a result, I though that this would be a great opportunity to write a blog post on Superfoods Powders, their benefits and how they could be used.
The few of them that I chose today are wheatgrass, bee pollen and cocoa nibs.
Bee Pollen – as the name suggests is made by honeybees from multiple wildflowers and is one of the natures’s most nourishing foods. It contains almost every nutrient needed by humans to sustain life and is a great natural supplement. It contains vitamins A, B, C, D & E, 22 Amino acids and 40% protein. Bee pollen helps to increase your stamina and energy and has antibiotic properties that help prevent colds and the flu. Other benefits of this natural supplement include anti-ageing and antioxidant properties, helps to fight allergies and improves digestion.
How could it be used? Bee pollen is a versatile natural supplement and could be used in the variety of ways. However, it can’t be heated as heating will destroy precious nutrients. The most simplest way to use it is by sprinkling it over the porridge, smoothie bowls, salads, cereals, yogurt, granola or toast. I love adding it to my smoothies or just sprinkling it on top of them.
Wheatgrass – is another great natural supplement. It is high in vitamins A and C, which contribute to immune system support, antioxidant protection and skin rejuvenation. Wheatgrass is a young and leafy growth of Wheat. Its leaves are harvested when they are at their nutritional peak, cleaned, dried and milled into the fine powder. Because of this, wheatgrass provides a wide range of vitamins and minerals. It could be used in the form of the capsules or the powder.
It does have a grassy taste to it, so for some people it could take a while to get used to it. If added to the smoothie it will give it a bright green colour. Having this type of green smoothie will boost your energy levels for the whole day and will contribute to a normal brain function. Try it first thing in the morning and will start noticing how your energy levels change. If you like extremes and are not afraid of the grassy taste, mix a teaspoon of wheatgrass powder in a glass of water and drink it in the morning.
